Peer Advocate Counselor

37.5 hour per week position in the Montpelier office.

Candidate must have personal experience with a disability and an ability to work in partnership with people with disabilities, assisting and empowering them by working toward independent living goals. The PAC will participate in outreach activities and provide technical assistance to increase community options and supports.

Candidate must have the ability to work as a mentor, educator and advocate in individual and group settings. Other skills required: knowledge about accessing local resources; understanding of issues affecting individuals with disabilities, including barriers to housing, transportation and employment; and computer proficiency, including data entry and social media skills.

Access to a reliable vehicle and ability to travel in central and northern Vermont is a must.

Candidate must have the ability to work independently, but also be willing and able to work as part of a team.

20 hour a week position located in our Montpelier office

Youth Transition Coordinator

20 hour a week position located in our Montpelier office.

The successful candidate will have personal experience with a disability and have made the transition from high school in the not too distant past. Be able to speak publically about your personal journey and be a good listener to those who are beginning that journey.

The candidate should be interested in empowering youth and able to work with many different folks as this dynamic person will be working with school staff and youth around the state. Enthusiastic person responsible for the moving parts of this one-of-a-kind position.  Experience with maintaining and updating social media and presenting at workshops. Needs to be able to multi task, keep all media materials up to date, work with the youth transition team but also be able to work independently.

This position does require statewide travel.
