Deborah Lisi-Baker, Executive Director of the Vermont Center for Independent Living and Editor of the Independent (a statewide newspaper for seniors and people with disabilities), has spent her professional life advocating for children and adults with disabilities in key public policy and systems change initiatives. Passionate in her belief in the value of each person, she has been a model of collaboration, serving as a resource to many statewide agencies.

The Puppets' Choice Award was established in 2001 to honor a person who has made outstanding contributions advocating for children in our state.
